Flower Clown,
You were just recently at my son's 5th and my
daughter's 3rd birthday. I just wanted to reiterate to you
what a wonderful time we had. It was amazing that you
could keep a group of 2-6 year olds engaged for the amount of
time you did. Everyone was involved and entertained!
I am still getting positive comments about your performance
almost four weeks later! Even my grandparents were having
a great time watching your performance. My son has loved
your balloons since we had first seen you at Damon's in Willoughby
during
kid's nights. We would go just to see you! We wanted
to thank you again for the time you spent at our home, you made
my children's birthday so incredibly memorable and fun!
Sincerely,
Lisa

Dear Flower,
It was wonderful to have you be part of our "Circus
Unit". We are learning about circus acts, food, and the
animals found at the circus. Clowns are a major part of our unit
and to have one visit our class was a great treat!
Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to spend time
with us. Some of our children were afraid of clowns, but not
anymore thanks to you. Watching you put on your make-up was a
rare treat, one that helps the children learn not to be afraid.
As always you were truly fantastic! The kids loved you and had
such a wonderful time with you. You provided a learning
experience that was fun and one that they will not forget. Many
of our children miss out on our everyday experiences because it
is hard for their parents to transport due to wheelchairs and
behaviors. You provided them with a memory of one they would not
normally have.
Thank you for taking the time to make balloons for each child
and to spend time with each one. They all loved it and talked
about you for days. In fact we watched an Emit Kelly circus
tape, they all said "There's Flower!". You were truly
a hit with them.
Again, I thank you! We are blessed to have you as our friend and
to have you visit us. You are truly a very special friend to
special children.

Hi Flower ---
Back in November you performed at Tia and Laurence birthday
party in East
Cleveland. I sincerely want to thank you. You are
truly a gifted and
talented individual. You entertained the kids as well as
the adults --- we
were all caught up in your performance. I have been
bragging and
recommending you ever since. I want to thank you again and to
wish you well
in your endeavors -- you are truly great!

Thank you so
much for making Connor's fourth birthday so memorable.
The kids loved everything from the magic to the balloon
animals. I can see why you are becoming so popular.
If ever you need a reference, please feel free to call us.
What so impressed the adults is how you so obviously enjoy the
children and how they can tell.

I
will start by saying you have a wonderful website! And you
are incredibly talented! My son and I saw you while we were
visiting Cleveland for his last biopsy. Perhaps you remember a
little red headed boy who loved your rockets! You were at a
place in Cleveland Heights, the make your own stir-fry
restaurant (BD's Mongolian Barbeque). We were enjoying dinner
with a resident doctor from the Clinic.
I read
your news clip, and found it enlightening. My son has been
involved in the live theater for about 4 years now (he is 9),
and he too remains in character for a while after a performance.
What I am saying, he is always performing. He has 3 suitcases
full of costumes and wigs, and I am endlessly searching for yet
another closet to store his items in. He dreams of life on the
stage. He received a heart transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in
May of 2000. He now has a chance to live out his dreams.
I
might also suggest to the child life specialists at the clinic,
that a visit from you would brighten the faces of the children.
From Iowa, there is not much more I can do to support you in
your efforts, but enjoy seeing a lifelong dream lived out.
Your
article stated backpacking across (the World) was it? I
backpacked the Grand Canyon about 15 years ago, spent a week at
the bottom. I highly recommend it! The beauty cannot be seen
from the rim.
I will
retain a copy of the news clip, as I would love to share it with
my son at a later date. In a few short years, he will understand
the determination it takes, and the rewards for endurance.
We wish you the
best!
Lisa & Ben
